Welcome!

We are doing a major redesign of the site to make it much more interactive, which is, after all, its purpose for being.  This should be completed very soon.  All registered members of the site will be notified by email when the new version is up and running, at which time we will embark on a major PR effort to get the word out about the site . . . we hope you'll join in on that effort.

Another Extraordinary Conference

We who frequent this site share two powerful bonds.

~ We are committed to the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, disciples for whom themes of atonement, repentance, love, service, temple and home are not mere inspirational oratory, but the foundational principles of our lives.

~ We have special circumstances in our families that test and try us to our limits.

In facing our challenges, we faithfully try to apply gospel principles, even as we draw comfort, perspective and power from them.  But, like all parents, we get weary ... and thirsty.

We've had a refreshing drink of living water this weekend.

We'd love to feature other videos here.  Each of our kids has gifts as well as challenges.  How about sharing a video of your child participating with the family (or the Primary, YM/YW, whatever) in an activity where they shine.

If you are moved by the video above, click on the picture under the quote to the right to make your voice heard.  If you are (or know) a school teacher, or have a church calling with teens (who seem most inclined to throw the R-noun around unthinkingly), you might invite them to view the video and then take the pledge to stop using it.

One Heart, One Mind

Why this site?  Certainly, there are plenty of websites out there that deal with special needs children.  The purpose of this site is to have a place where

The Red Sea Place

Have you come to the Red Sea place in your life
Where in spite of all you can do,
There is no way out.
There is no way back.
There is no other way but through.

This verse was shared with me shortly after the day a doctor declared that our Matt's mind would never mature.  Leaving his office, I drove

Quotes

"Many of the special ones are superior in many ways. They, too, are in a life of progression, and new things unfold for them each day as with us all.  They can be extraordinary in their faith and spirit.  Some are able, through their prayers, to communicate with the infinite in a most remarkable way.  Many have a pure faith in others and a powerful belief in God.  They can give their spiritual strength to others around them."

Elder James E. Faust
